Spire Lamp
The spire lamp was conceived from the idea of wanting to make a lamp for my Dear Friend Dr. Irina Budunova (see links page).
The inspiration for this lamp came while looking in a small retail shop window late at night in Paris. We viewed a table lamp built of brass and aluminum spires. My desire was to create a more contemporary floor lamp based on my image that night.
The lamp is completely made from acrylic including the assembly fastners but not including the electrical components. The upper tips of the spires have been machined so when viewed at different angles it gives the lamp a wave effect. With the addition of color filters designed for the lamp you can create different moods which are greatly enhanced by the unique starburst of light crearted on the ceiling.
